    Very strange when they dropped the slogan, like being honest about being evil got them brownie points.

    “Yeah, we’re evil, but we told you, so if we screw you over, that’s on you. You were warned.”

      They didn’t though, despite countless articles claiming so. The only change was moving it from the foreword of their Code of Conduct to the closing statement. Sure, you can argue all day if the foreword or closing statement is “more impactful”, but it was never removed.

      To be clear, Google is an evil company who never abided by that slogan. But it’s just plain untrue that they removed it.

      I thought it was strange too, until I realized - I think the slogan change was a deliberate message to court a specific type of investor/customer: Epstein’s billionaire pedophile friends.

      They never dropped it. it is the conclusion of their ethics statement. A journalist didn’t bother to hit ctrl-f or scroll down, put out a false article, and everyone else has been parroting the lie ever since.
