He is one of the best presidents in US history. The orange Mongoose is one of the worst if not the worst. Obama bombed the ever loving shit out of the middle east. Obama deported more people from the US than Trump at the moment.

I would do almost anything to go back to the Obama era, seriously. But I don’t want anyone thinking I believe Obama was some kind of saint. He wasn’t. He simply did things better than Trump.

His immigration policy made more sense. He deported people who actually needed to be deported without resorting to modern-day concentration camps. He used military force in the Middle East, but generally for far more defensible reasons. He was a significantly better diplomat, and he certainly handled Iran better than Trump ever did, without throwing tantrums and shitting himself on national television.

From a communist point of view, its Nixon and tbh I’m not even sure its close. Lincoln was kinda forced into doing what he was doing by the situation at hand, Benjamin Wade would have rocked the South and fully completed Reconstruction (Marx also talked positively about Wade in passing). Nixon kinda just went off and started trading with China despite siege still being a valid tactic. He also made the EPA, made dialysis widely available, and more. He also had a conscience and resigned over it, which is kinda top tier as far as American presidents go. The repercussions of the Nixon admin are also the basis for the current geopolitical situation, 50 years later. Mao also said to a Japanese PM “I told Nixon, ‘I voted for you when you ran for President. You still don’t know.’”

Obama is a pretty ridiculous option. Maybe the best of the presidents after Jimmy Carter? But thats a low ass bar.

I’m not saying Carter is particularly good, I mostly like him because he was a 1 termer and fucked off. Obama was definitely the best steward of empire, but he obviously wasn’t good for any normal every day person.

Also he actually did labor even after his presidency building houses and shit. Something almost no other president did.

Also his peanut farm was more like the family ranches of old than industrial ag of today.

The best thing about Nixon was his unending revulsion and hatred for Washington D.C. and the East Coast elite.

The worst part about Nixon was that he was a lying piece of shit who pretty much let Kissinger run rampant in the Department of Defense.

That said, as a communist, Nixon is a mixed bag, because while he absolutely set the stage for the Chinese Century, his tactics are also what set the stage for the dissolution of the USSR, by demonstrating to the developing Russian oligarchs that integration into the Western Economy was a possibility, when that was never the intention with Russia.

It was a masterstroke of genius, on both the part of the CPC and the U.S., mostly to the detriment of international communism (not that it was in a particularly great spot at that point, but still).

Normalizing with Cuba and the JCPOA with Iran were both good. He was relatively less zionist than the presidents around him. That’s about it imo, and it probably is enough to set him above the others.

He did some good in his post presidency. He visited Haiti to avoid an invasion by the US and managed to negociate the return of the Socialist Catholic President. He managed to visit North Korea and fuck Bill Clinton’s Plan to attack North Korea. He sided with Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales during the 2004 coup attempt in Venezuela and crisis in Bolivia. He wrote a book that pissed Israel so much that he basically got kicked out of the Democrat Party. Though he still funded the Genocide in East Timor and the Taliban in Afghanistan when he was president.
