In the past week I’ve been absolutely roasted for criticising two different countries. Normally I’d be okay with that, I can handle a mild toasting and after all debate is a good thing.

On both occasions though I was flamed for mentioning human rights issues that are established facts and have been known for many, many years. I was critical of the actions/laws of their governments and not the people, their race, religion, general political ideology or nationality.

On both occasions I was bombarded by long posts that parroted propaganda, and in the case of one country I was told (on multiple occasions) that I was ignorant, racist and even fascist for mentioning the issues I did. I’m not complaining about how I was treated, but as a reminder, I was discussing internationally-recognised human rights concerns that can be verified and based in fact.

I could just be paranoid but I’m fairly convinced the responses weren’t from patriotic citizens. I think they were paid trolls or bots, and I think their purpose was to quiet negative talking points about the countries that were mentioned.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

In the past week I’ve been absolutely roasted for filling my pants with shit. Normally I’d be okay with that, I can handle a mild toasting and after all debate is a good thing.

I was bombarded with posts telling me to clean the shit out of my pants. I was told (on multiple occasions) that I was stinky for walking around with pants full of shit. I’m not complaining about how I was treated, but as a reminder, I filled my pants with shit.

I could just be paranoid but I’m fairly convinced the responses weren’t from patriotic citizens. I think they were paid trolls or bots.

The nerve of some of the posts to claim that the tankies should just go to Reddit to convert people. Like Lemmy was birthed mostly by Reddit banning subreddits that were willing to speak against the grain of western propaganda.

The libs should go back to Reddit themselves if they want to avoid having propaganda disputes questioned anytime they assume they know what an “obvious fact” is. The sheer ghoul brained nature of the op just just nakedly believe that the international group producing “facts” isn’t compromised and also contributing to western propaganda.

Americans have been protesting of piss poor foreign policy of their country. That is why isolationism have become a popular platform after all to run on. But in China? You don’t see people protesting against Beijing claiming the entire South China Sea. Russia arrests anyone who protests against the war in Ukraine. There is an ocean of difference.

    hahaha

And why should I care about this concern trolling when in all likelihood these paskudnyaks are in complete denial of the problem of Ukrainian neofascism?

This particular dullard made some generic ‘China sucks’ comment, to which @Cowbee@hexbear.net and others replied with information patiently addressing their tired arguments, and wouldn’t you know it, they made a thread anyway about how Lemmy ‘wronged’ them. I think that @jobbies@lemmy.zip is more interested in goofing around or playing the victim than having a meaningful conversation.

Makes sense, it’s a common occurance that these people perceive any callout on being not as educated as they should be to speak definitively on a subject as an utter assault on their person.

It must be so exciting living in the realities these dorks have created in their own heads lmao

Sorry buddy, but the fact that people disagree with you on the internet doesn’t make you the protagonist of a spy thriller

  • lemmy.ml is a marxist-leninist discussion board for open-source software enthusiasts. If that’s not what they’re looking for, then yeah they should go ahead and block the instance. They act like it’s a sport to go into communist spaces online and argue in the comments about China or Russia to try to get banned.

    I shouldn’t have read that.

I feel like I am going insane. I know why I became a leftist and it’s because a) late-diagnosed autism, b) giving too much of a darn about people, c) working too hard for too long and seeing absolute mouth breathers get rich beyond belief. But the way these people talk about me makes me think I am in a culture or something and that I am missing something major… like I am left because Capitalism isn’t working! I was not “brainwashed” and if anything I had to work really hard to break from Capitalist brainwashing.

But I have doubts. IDK, I feel like life has always been harder for me than “normal” people and I am jealous of that. I hate how hard I work and yet it feels like nothing I do matters and I’m never good enough for anyone. So is it just that most people are happy and better than me? What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I just be left alone instead of forced into this normal lifestyle that I can’t fit in with? I tried; it doesn’t work for me.

And it’s exhausting being told I am a bit and not a real flesh and blood human being that has trouble typing this because of my fat fingers.

In an era with bots everywhere and ai generating videos and pages with chats between multiple users under a second, it amuses me you still care by answers on your comments.

It is impossible having sure if you are talking with a human, a neoliberal or a bot, so just presume it is a bot and ignore it.

Ok, maybe it is a human, so, if you still care, answer the matter on a different post when oportunity comes. Eventually the message will reach him.
