Present the options to them (ex - unionization, non-state sanctioned news). If they don’t take it, just be the hippy at work without necessarily bothering anyone.
Their material interests don’t really align with progressivism so short of a personal epiphany there isn’t that much you can do.
And if being the hippy at work puts a nasty target on your back, turn it down I guess?
That’s pretty much how I deal with it. Anyone of the tech bros who talks to me about politics gets the “let’s overthrow imperialism and establish a DotP” pitch. It short circuits some of them.
Yeah when in doubt make people squirm with reality. You don’t have to argue with them. Just present some people evidence and then bail out.
Anytime I’m dealing with a certain type of white asshole it’s normally what I do. Though this probably only works if you are also white. Lure them in with complaints about something they agree with then hit them hard to make them have to use the little grey cells for once. You can turn up or down the heat depending upon circumstances.
