trying to use our website? GUESS AGAIN, IDIOT
this is specifically while browsing via incognito tabs while not logged in. I go to old.reddit.com BLOCKED BY SECURITY I go to reddit.com BLOCKED BY SECURITY I go to a random fucking reddit link via google and then it all starts working again
I cannot stress enough how much I wish some nerd responsible for this sort of shit reddit does would die. I want someone involved in enshittification to literally be entombed in shit for their heinous deeds
This is the future we’re getting, whether we approve of it or not. All actions will be tied to your identity and they’ll be able to make up whatever bullshit they want to put you in prison, citing a massive list of “suspicious behaviors”.
Then don’t go to reddit?
Post 3 dozen threads per day about EU5 for me then
Never played it and eu4 was way too much for me to comprehend but sure i can do that
You think all those nerds posting mad about the game are playing it?? Ye need not play to post
The new things are bad because they are new and the things that are the same are bad because they’re stale! In this easy i will
Unfortunately it’s still a decent source for niche things. I often click the reddit link when I’m stuck on a weird tech issue or a game or something. I could click the reddit link and have to scroll and back and scroll and back to get through their annoying “USE THE APP LOL” notification, or I can go to a website that has about 3 pixels of useful text interspersed with ten million ads. Reddit even with all the stuff they’ve done to make it unusable without an account is still unfortunately the easier option when I really want to know why I can’t figure out some dumbass thing in a game I’m stuck on
Fair enough. Guess i haven’t had any problems like that in a while
When I set VPN to Washington DC it lets me skip the block by security page
try langley virginia maybe they just dont wanna walk far to get the data
Lmao protip
Why cant nobody make a website anymore without google or cloudflare being involved?
✨Capitalism✨
That means they’re allowing you based on the Referrer header which you could probably get Firefox to fake.
This is the answer. I run a niche social site, and a blank referer from a device that the site doesn’t recognize has become a red flag. It’s almost always a bot or a scraper. The less lazy ones spoof a Google referer, and the sophisticated ones render the page and even simulate human input. It’s a difficult battle even for a smalltime site like mine. I can’t imagine the war that reddit must battle against scraping. I love my privacy, but being as private as possible is going to come with frustration as we get lumped in with the likely bots and scrapers.
Yup. Your ability to be anonymous online is fundamentally the linked with a bots ability to appear human.
Its funny that every prompt from google ai is just reddit scrapings
It’s not even good either it just scrapes the top comment of the top reddit post.
It’s also just plain wrong most of the time lol.

fr this happens to me all the time too guess i’ll just browse the bear and wait for the next poop post
It’s becoming a thing on Lemmy, too.
Edit: I mean people posting stuff to google drive, etc.
