Just in case you were trying to be serious, that thing looks like a USB battery charger. Power line networking (in general, not the TM) adapters plug directly the eth device on the power.
(And possibly don’t work well in an outlet multiplier… it depends on the details.)

If it’s only an outlet multiplier, it doesn’t cause many issues. Those things usually come with more circuitry than just the outlets, and some of them will destroy the signal.
