I think people genuinely forget that the fucking transistor radio didn’t exist until 1954. The Soviets were in their prime while we were figuring out technology. Of course they tried some wild stuff. That’s how we figured out what works. You don’t just magically know how to build a maglev train. You have to iterate and mess around til you find what works. The last 80 years of knowledge didn’t just get bestowed on us by the gods. People had to figure that shit out. We went from riding horses to putting a man on the moon in a single human lifetime! There’s all kinds of wacky shit they were trying in the 1900s.
You think living by the tracks is bad? Imagine a fucking jet engine train soaring past your rail-side house.
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
Why isn’t this a thing in Cyberpunk 2077?
Can this design work?
kinda, though it’s very inefficient compared to modern high speed rail, it was an important experiment though

It’s like, do you want to go fast with current technology, or do you want to possibly go fast eventually with future technology? Both approaches can be correct at different times.

I would’ve said fallout design, but I guess as long as it’s not a racism thing, I guess you could say it’s an Orky design
40k Orkz, the “slap it on and believe it works, it works, and if it don’t, fight until it does” kinda Orky. Roit proppa kinda gitz.
goes faster if it’s painted red
Oh, so that’s where the cover for https://dubmood.bandcamp.com/album/transregional-des-pyrenees-data009 comes from!
