tbh the words “inclusion” and “transparency” still show up in the descriptions (for now); and “Always free” is still on the page.
Oh my days. Please don’t let them fuck it up.
Tap for spoiler
They will
I really hope someone trustworthy like Mozilla or the EFF fork it.
they also increased the family plan price, from $40/y to $47.88/y (~20%)
That’s a very on the nose number for a dog whistle. 47 for trump and 88 is a famous nazi number.
don’t read into it, that’s just $ 3.99 * 12
i do think it reflects poorly on them to ever use “88”, even if it’s completely unintentional.
someone at marketing should be aware of the connotation and the company should listen to them when they say “hey maybe we should just bump that up to 89 or down to 87 so we don’t have a hitler number in the price”
Conway’s law is real.
any alternatives that don’t require self hosting? i don’t have the money or storage for that
Proton just passed their audit. I haven’t really used it so I can’t comment on how it is.
not really a fan of proton either tbh. i paid for a year of their VPN but i’m getting mullvad next year so like, i’m kind of in the middle of also getting away from them.
I use Proton’s full suite. Bitwarden’s browser extension is better iLO, but on the whole there’s nothing Bitwarden does that Proton’s can’t do.
Keepass… Is free and always was
Store database in the cloud and it syncs with all your devices
without built-in syncing and browser auto-fill, that’s not really an alternative
Both can be had with keepaassxc browser addons and the right settings. Denying that is just bs.
Firefox has a browser autofill plugin.
And mobile browser can install desktop plugins.
Psono? Its selfhosted but they also have a free service https://psono.com/
Whoops. Guess that’s that, then. 🤌🏼
you either go bankrupt early, or you stay in business long enough to enshittify
really hoping they won’t, though
