Google, the owners of YouTube, has removed a channel on the platform belonging to a pro-Iran group producing Lego-themed videos mocking Donald Trump.

“Upon review, we’ve terminated the channel for violating our Spam, deceptive practices and scams policies,” a YouTube spokesperson told Middle East Eye.

“YouTube doesn’t allow spam, scams, or other deceptive practices that take advantage of the YouTube community.”

Explosive Media’s content largely consists of animations ridiculing the US war effort against Iran and poking fun at the US president.

Every American company is loyal to the empire. If not by gleeful obedience then at least by threat of court orders and political pressure. I guess in Google’s case it’s that kind of gleeful obedience.

That means the videos were effective; I don’t agree with Youtube’s decision but it’s their business I guess.

Now I want to watch the videos

Explosive Media, known in Persian as Akhbar Enfejari, has denied it is backed by the Iranian government and its videos have reached millions of viewers across a range of social media platforms.

Speaking to the BBC, the head of Explosive Media, who referred to himself as “Mr Explosive”, said his team consisted of fewer than 10 people and that the Iranian government was a “customer” of his company.

NGL, confusing article. Not even sure why it would matter?

If Iranian state actors are producing videos of this quality, it may become an existential threat to US Meme Hegemony.

TIL .ml loves mass-spam of genAI slopaganda if it’s in support of a cause they’re aligned with. Good to know.

genAI has predominantly been pushed by the US, particularly the super wealthy in the US, so that they can exploit the working class even more and pay them even less. As much as I hate genAI, seeing Iran, who was absolutely the wronged party in this completely illegal and unnecessary war of imperialist aggression on behalf of a genocidal ethnostate, turn the tool of the oppressors against them, and using it to agitate for class consciousness in the USA, is just fucking awesome, IMO.

Did you see the anti-Trump rap one? It actually goes so fucking hard.

Not even a little surprised that tankies – the fucking cognoscenti of rhetoric that pretends to care about a bad thing, masking that the real goal is for “their side” to have a monopoly on the bad thing – lack consistent ethics when it comes to destroying the planet and flooding out human-made media for shitty, braindead, dubiously effective propaganda.

          lack consistent ethics

Consistent ethics is when I declare all sides bad and ignore geopolitical context

          destroying the planet

The tankies is China are creating the first electrostate in human history and installing more renewables energy capacity than all of the lib states

          flooding out human-made media

It’s the tankies that are doing this (not big tech). I am smart

Quick username question: opinions on North Korea? Since we’re on the whole “shitty ethics” thing.
