jones is the real deal. this guy has big communist of brazilian history who fought the brutal dictatorship sort of potential and already has a good slice of the blame for why they would try to balkanize the northeast away from the rest of brazil.

some publications will subtly discredit him as a ‘breadtuber’, but he is a big organizer, great communicator and is pretty good at playing the political game.

OMG YES SO MUCH. i find with some liberals that they will bring up a straw man or something about what they believe i believe in and i will patiently correct them on it.

honestly the bolsonaristas are pretty openly representing the us, and there are a lot of them in every nook of these institutions still, not to mention the many straight up elected. lula would have the opportunity to change things around a bit more but i don’t think he can directly tame the military because it’d need the sort of sweeping reform he doesn’t have the political capital to do.

brazil would be equipped for some sort of resistance. because sure are hell the empire is going to escalate anyway.
