Maybe it’s helpful for some people, but I feel like putting any amount of hope in a god-figure just magically fixing everything that’s wrong with the world would put me off like, actually doing the necessary work to make that happen.

Damn, when you put it like that, it makes religion almost sound like a drug that pacifies people, like some kind of opiate, that effects the masses or something.
