I would love to walk into a convention full of centrist dems where these candidates are being announced, somehow gain control of the pa system, and amidst the applause and self-congratulating rip an immense 10-15 second fart on the intercom.

So bad the the microphone has to be thrown away afterward, and democrats consider trying me for sedition.

How people can be so chronically unserious is beyond my comprehension

What is to be done about the fucking Democrats?

I have no hopes in entryism anymore. I don’t resent anyone for feeling compelled to participate in the party. But in my heart of hearts I truly believe this party must be supplanted and destroyed.

They do much more to perpetuate the duopoly of party politics than any other entity in America and they make damn sure that any credible threat from a third party is seen as a joke by any ostensibly “gettable” political constituency.

They are as existential a threat as the republicans, if not more so, but for different reasons.

Gotta get involved in my local PSL chapter this year

Officially the DSA’s goal is to incubate a socialist caucus within the dems until its large enough to break out and form its own party. That said, I don’t think any of the DSA reps are actually onboard with that plan. Its more like being in a good position to start a socialist party if the Dems implode.

If their sleeper cells aren’t actually on board with this “plan” then it’s not a plan, more like wishful thinking. Might as well hope a centrist randomly becomes a communist after getting elected, it’s as much of a “plan” as this

They’re not sleeper cells, they’re openly socialist representatives caucusing together. But yes it is as much wishful thinking to hope our current reps would break with the dems as much as it is us getting enough socialist reps in office to do so.

Dirty break strategy is a part of a national resolution to build an independent socialist party. SMC was against it and just wants to do basic entryism.

The forums are the only way to keep up with it and there’s like 15 layers of drama that’s both politically important but also deeply personal to the type of sicko who actually gets into arguments on a DSA forum. And for that reason, no one will ever dare try to help unravel it for you.

Like I could be wrong about SMC entirely but that was just my reading of peoples responses to them complaining how we’re not actually doing anything to build this party.

Fwiw though it seems like the major obstacles were alternatives to actblue and ngpvan. ActBlue alternative seems to be done but the NGPVan alt is going to be a nightmare. Probably because NGPVan itself is a nightmare.

Oh my god Vance v Newsome has Newsome losing that’s incredible. These polls are so ridiculously early and that one point is well within a margin of error but that’s honestly hilarious. How could anyone lose to Vance. You may as well exit politics forever

They saw Trump win with his “we eill destroy the system (hint:in a bad way)” rhetoric and decided to ship the most unoffensive, pandering, bootlicking motherfuckers on their side. The issue is they cant bring in someome who will piss off their donors and thats who the real left wants. They dont realize they are building a future that has no place for themselves. Fucken Rome all over again but worse.

It’s like they’re trying to pick the most unlikable people on the planet. Like, why not push Pritzker. He’s still a fucking billionaire turbolib but he’s infinitely more likeable then everyone on that list and also will still absolutely not shake the dem establishment. Of course there are lots of real progressives they could get behind who would be seriously popular and provide a refreshing alternative to the current status quo and absolutely guarantee a win but they’ll never do that, so if they want to actually still have a shot then they’d need to pick someone likeable. Who likes any of these ghouls. Pritzker sucks but people generally like him and he does and says likeable stuff. He’d have a shot as an establishment Dem.

The Dems absolutely aren’t even trying to be controlled opposition. The only people they’re opposing are their own voters

They can’t pick Pritzker because Pritzker has his own independent wealth and independent voter base. The DNC, more than anything, is afraid of being ‘Trumped’ like the ‘moderates’ in the Republican party were and completely losing control of the party. If they lose control of the party, they lose the gravy train of insider trading and donor money. This is what scares them more than anything else, because it is unfathomable to them that a third party will actually arise in such a way that it can’t be immediately crushed through some half-hearted promises.

They worship the status quo, and anything that threatens it is immediately out the window. One of the reasons Newsome wasn’t even in consideration last time is that he had just abit too much of an independent streak. He has since gotten back in lock step with the DNC.

The one that gives it away is Rahm Emanuel. He’s fallen into irrelevance since he stopped being mayor of Chicago, even shitlibs don’t see him as fulfilling any of their wishes or symbolic victories. He might run, but he’d never poll higher than 2%.

    • for real. if only for the characterization of a political contest between these figures as “bloody”. it would be about as bloody as the 2020 seemless dropout and orientation of all non-bernie candidates into a pro-biden camp, which happened in less than 12 hours.

this group in a primary would be complete choreographed to steadily “prove” the viability of a preordained front runner, while the others negotiated their brand’s entry into the administration as a cabinet position for their career ladder in the party.

and then the chosen one would enter the general election and the real hard contest would be the zionist pro-cop, anti-immigrant democrat VS the zionist pro-cop, anti-immigrant republican over who can manage their public appearances best and ignore 80% of registered voters most convincingly.
