I guess that tracks because Thanos is stupid as fuck.

Trying to solve the resource problem by killing half of the universe just doesn’t help. In a couple of decades, the population would be back to the previous number.

He could just snap his fingers and make those missing resources appear. Whole empty planets for people to live with abundance etc.

It feels like he thought of the problem for like one minute and decided to take the easiest short term solution possible.

he was doing it to prevent the celestials from emerging from planets killing the population. im guessing he probably thought of that already that alreayd, adding more natural resources would accelerate the emergence. also seems the stones is not powerful enough to affect celestials, or primordial beings(death, GOD, angels, etc), otherwise he wouldve just used it to kill them. he is stupid in that having the 6 stones, why dint he conjure about things that can kill celestials.

Thanos was the universe’s biggest mass murderer, but at least he had a point (even if his solution was the dumbest thing imaginable}. Musk is just a PoS.

In the comics Thanos was straight up the right man hand/side hoe of the concept of death made manifest the whole point of offing half of all life was just to make mistress death happy (I think she actually ordered it). A lot of the original plot points of the infinity war and its buildup was lost in translation. Movie thanos motivations werent even half baked, he could have doubled resources and made a paradise for life with his motivations

Yeah, Thanos has principles and his actions are backed by altruism. Musk is a spineless self-serving parasite with actions backed my ketamine.

Exactly, not only moderate but extremely. Dude completely succeeds in his goal, entire universe against him. Elon is on twitter whining on X because his boyfriend kicked him outta the house

Problem was his goal was totally stupid. Kill half of all life and destroy the stones? So it can rebound in a few centuries if not decades?

and the population would still bounce back. He could have ended scarcity entirely and no one would have tried to stop him.

The comics version of him just wanted to have sex with Death. Its also stupid, but it at lease makes sense. The fact that it is stupid makes it even more realistic.

ITT: people saying they always knew

What I am upvoting: people talking about how their perception of him changed

I have a not-quite-physics degree (I could not mentally bring myself to do the proper physics capstone, but I basically have a physics degree.) I have had multiple conversations with astrophysicists, astronauts, and people who know their shit.

It has always been abundantly clear to me that he has been full of shit. I had to play coy a lot because I had some association with NASA, but the man does not know shit about rockets or physics and it’s always been abundantly clear to anyone who does.

I doubt he could do a simple kinematics problem.

Nah, at least Thanos thought he was doing the right thing. His goals were ultimately noble but psychotic.

Elon doesn’t care about doing the right thing, he only cares about money and his ego.

I thought it was cool that he was making space ships and EVs. I like space. I like EVs. Guess I was naïve.

Musk as Lex Luthor would be a better fit, and even that might be insulting to Luthor.

15 years ago I thought he was a dorky rich guy with a well-connected publicist.

10 years ago I thought he was a too-full-of-himself car manufacturer who bought his way into the game who overestimated his own engineering prowess.

5 years ago I thought he was an asshole and wondered why other people seemed to respect him.

Now I think he’s a pathetic rich guy who got used and thrown away by Trump, the guy famous for using people and then throwing them away. Fuckin’ cuck of a chump who could have his cock in the US’s pussy and still wouldn’t have the balls to fuck.

He has been a scumbag since forever.
From the Thai ‘pedophile’ incident to wanting to keep his factories open in peak Covid times under Biden.
All was OK when he served blue MAGA.
    Hypocrites
