AnarchyChess@sopuli.xyz•It's so specific and accurate
16·3 months agoIf I try to play bullet, I could probably find out for you.
I can read this as either: AI allows anyone to code their own stuff.
Or

5·3 months agoIt was for brevity and clarity. People are very familiar with hearing “OCD” used casually, but “NPD” would have sounded too specific and clinical compared to “narcissistic” as a character trait.

6·3 months agoThe joke is leaning more on the OCD/narcissistic characteristics of Patrick Bateman than the murdery part. Like, having a ridiculously tedious self-care routine due to vanity (or self-consciousness, take your pick).
But oh boy! the day they appear!
I will have forgotten the move order.

1·4 months agoVery interesting! Editing it now to correct it as the day it hit the iceberg, because someone else mentioned that it didn’t sink until the next day.

27·4 months agoIt’s real, but it went viral and they got a ton of backlash online for it a few years ago.

memes@lemmy.world•Have you astral projected yet today?
0·4 months agoJust did some digging, and it’s legit and from a 1994 book called “The Internet Guide for New Users” by Daniel P. Dern.
Mildly interesting side-note, I found someone’s blog about posting this image and book to a (now non-existent) fediverse server. https://doughnut.neocities.org/blag/15
