I only object to one thing in what he says:

“We can protect LGBTQ rights and basic human rights at the same time…"

They’re the same thing. It’s not like some people’s rights are an optional extra. Either everyone has basic rights or no one does. And that’s why it should be central to the political platform: abandoning it is abandoning your commitment to basic human rights, which should be pretty foundational.

This is the core of the messaging. Dropping one, doesn’t help you protect the other…it does the opposite.

Dude, we can’t get the majority of Americans to say civil rights are basic human rights after 60 years.

Speak to Americans at their level man.

Thats what we fucking told you. Its not just that its morally abhorrent: it also cost you votes. We’ve been building a set of moral and politically priorities within the DNC for 25 fucking years and then you fucking ran against them Harris. LGBTQ+ rights are at its fucking core. That’s why you fucking lost.

I think everything the administration did in power worked against her.

They ran on being better for migrants, continued the bullshit with them.

They ran on the wave of protests for Black lives. They armed the cops even more.

They ran on actually caring about the people affected by the covid pandemic. They just declared it over when it is obviously not and still killing and disabling tons of folk.

They were proud of their support of the genocide in Gaza.

They were obviously better than Trump, but how can you run as the good guys when you do all that? No one bought it.

However, since Trump’s win, some Democrats have been accused of “selling out” trans people. In January, two Democrats voted with Republicans to ban trans women and girls from competing in women’s sports.

If it’s only two democrats doesn’t that mean they voted against their party? This isn’t the Democratic Party. It’s a couple outliers.

This seems like another bad faith “both sides r same”.

Don’t forget that Gavin Newsom, the high profile Democratic governor of one of the most Democratic states, who definitely wants to be president in 2028, took the opportunity on his first podcast episode to invite on Charlie Kirk and say he was totally aligned with him on trans kids in sports. There is absolutely a set of Democrats who view defending trans rights as an annoyance that “loses them moderate voters.”

Only two may have had the gumption to do it, but your articles clearly show it is largely unpopular with Democratic representatives.

In the same vein: only a small minority of cops murder people of color, but it seems to be widely accepted by the rest of the department.

      Bad apples and all that.
