In a world with 8 billion people it’s hard to have an original thought and even harder to put that thought out before someone else does.

minus-squaresamus12345@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up9arrow-down1·5 months agoIs this the original? Having the “monster” be an angel and labeling the person “monster fucker” makes it actually make sense to me.
minus-squareIheartcheese@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up12arrow-down1·5 months agoYep. This comic even has its own know your meme page
minus-squaresamus12345@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6arrow-down3·5 months agoHarsh to call this a “rip-off”, then.
minus-squareTachyonTele@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up4arrow-down3·5 months ago… because it’s obviously ripping it off?
minus-squaresamus12345@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·5 months agoA rip-off is something that is copying something else while pretending to be original. This is parodying the original.
minus-squareTachyonTele@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down5·5 months agoHow can it be a parody if the original isn’t well known?
minus-squaresamus12345@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4arrow-down1·5 months agoBecause it was clearly known to the artist. This comic doesn’t even make sense unless you know both the original and that these are Elden Ring characters.

minus-squareI Cast Fist@programming.devlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·edit-25 months agoIn the OP’s comic, it certainly takes longer to figure “would what?” The original above with the angel has “monster fucker” on the person, so it’s a bit easier to deduce, “would fuck”
minus-squareIheartcheese@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·5 months agoKind of a meme to say that when you are looking at someone you would fuck
