It’s only ever effective when a credible violent alternative is present.
No oppressed person in history has ever gotten their rights by appealing to the better nature of their oppressor.
Civil rights weren’t won when black people asked politely and just moving everyone’s hearts at how unjustly they were being treated, when MLK died, he had a 75% disapproval rating. Civil rights were won through repeated demonstrations of power and showing what would happen if their demands weren’t met.

We just closed our eyes and looked the other way when he showed himself to be a rabid zionist and assumed he’d grown from when he chased a black man through neighborhood with a shotgun.
You see him go against AIPAC-backed corpo dems in the primary and interpreted some labor rhetoric and putting a hammer and sickle in his profile pic and it’s easy to mislead yourself.
It’s what happens when you don’t do the critical part of critical support.
This is different from Sinoma who simply lied about all of her positions.

31·1 month agoThe rendering in interestingengineering article is a stock image. An older SCMP article gives a much weirder rendering which matches the whitepaper the lead researcher published on I-shaped hypersonic configurations.
So I have no idea what the blurry ass rocket pic is supposed to be, maybe it was a test vehicle for just the engine, maybe SCMP misattributed it, maybe the team dumped the whole “I-shaped configuration” thing.
Presumably any ram or scram-jet engine will require a rocket engine or other assist, assuming it’s not a hybrid like the SR-71.
It probably is, the whole reason supersonic passenger flight looked feasible for a bit was that turbine technology hadn’t caught up so slower jets weren’t that much less efficient than supersonic jets.
But fuel concerns aside, it’s kinda silly to compare a billion dollar fighter jet built with 60s technology to a 747-sized aircraft built for passenger flight with modern technology. Just wildly different environments, purposes, and resources.
You can also use BULK INSERT for csvs or just INSERT INTO and some text editing depending on the specifics.
This is more for one-off stuff like analyzing some 10,000 row spreadsheet you’ve been handed that you could probably do with formulas in excel, but it’s easier to use sql, but not worth building a proper process for.
I keep an empty sql DB just for importing and working with spreadsheets to minimize how much I have to fuck with excel.

7·2 months agoA pretty obvious indicator of bot behavior is that they’ll repost old comments from reposted threads to generate a fake history.
Reddit’s admins don’t do anything about it because it creates the appearance of activity, and presumably they get some kind of kickback for not doing anything about US govt astroturfing.
If you know anyone who is currently in the military, tell them they need to get their disability rating ASAP.
