How come almost everyone I met who are actually from Italy are charming, funny, kind, humble, considerate, good looking and smart. Meanwhile people who are supposedly of Italian descent in the US are all corrupt politicians (Cuomos, Guilliani), cops, or literal criminals?

Maybe it’s a northern versus southern Italy thing? Most Italian immigrants in the Americas are descended from destitute peasants from southern Italy. Which is also where fascism (at least the word “fascism”) and the mafia began as a response to peasants organizing against their landlords around the turn of the twentieth century.
