If you take away the idea that it’s migrants it becomes bringing back old school village matchmakers and arranged marriages, but as a national government program.
This is kinda spooky because such matchmaking and arranged marriage culture has worked historically, the only thing here is scaling it up into a national thing and normalising it within culture so that everyone just sees it as how things are. It’s not an impossible concept and that disturbs me quite a bit.
Yeah, there is no indication of how the policy woudl actually be carried out. That is because it has not been thought through that seriously. I am saying it doesn’t bear up to scrutiny in any meaningful way. That is simply the way I feel it could be most easily implemented today and how quickly it would fall appart.
