Well maybe not, but one can only dream. I’m excited for the game regardless, apparently Silent Hill is good again.
Devs are Scottish, and it seems like the game has a “small town in upheaval” theme. Can’t think of any Scottish small town grievances in the 90s except for the ones caused by the tories. We NEED MORE politics in video games
Silent Hill 2 (the remake) was competent, but from an artistic standpoint I strongly dislike it. I lean pretty heavily towards disliking remakes, and in this case it was a chance to undercut a lot of what made the original game unique. I’m sure a lot of people had a good time with it, but that’s also true of like, Assassin’s Creed games.
Yeah the bar was on the floor after decades of trashfire (Book of Memories, Downpour, Homecoming, Ascension, and all the pachin-ko reels). I can’t comment on 2 remake because I have not played it, and I don’t feel the need to do so. Same with MGS Delta, seems like it is just a 1:1 remake outsourced to Eastern European devs without much creative input/freedom. f is the entry where I think Silent Hill is so back (especially its writing quality), and this upcoming game looks fairly promising.
