Back when I was but a one 4x3 monitor-ling, I told myself that someday I will rise up enough to achieve the rank of second monitor. Yet, here I am, three monitors and a laptop, so why do I still feel so empty?
I may be able to glance at my calendar whilst I labor, but what of my chat? Shall I be forced to forever rely on pop-ups and the dreaded screel of MS teams? Or shall I give in, lay bare my soul to the hands of judgement, and reduce my calendar to merely half a screen? Alas, the call of fair microcenter rings for me, I could do it. I could purchase the monitor, 10% off until Friday… but will this, for the first time, bring me peace?
Monitors are like roads, the more you have the more space you’ll use and thats it. To attain enlightenment you must walk the path of the tiling window manager.
Hear me out, tiling plus multiple monitors
You reach enlightenment when you realise we never needed to progress past 1024x768 and 4:3. Remove the multi monitor from your mind and embrace the 4:3 display with gods chosen display cable… VGA
My spirit is held together by the screws in the VGA port

No.
But two more will
Here I sit, mind empty, under the BodhiLED treeJust one more monitor, all your productivity issues will be fixed if you just get one more monitor. Your GPU probably has some unused video ports anyway so there’s no shame in just one more monitor.
I’m not even using the ports on my motherboard, so really it’s wasteful not to
Have you considered getting a cheap or free lcd screen that you strip the frame off of, and build a transparent screen only for your terminal?
Not like I have extensively planned for and am purposefully resisting buying a dvi-hdmi adapter for this
i would like to know more

You can just strip the frame and grab the lcd element
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
every 6 or so years id finally replace my monitors when one went out and each time i bought a larger and larger one until i finally arrived at 27 inch monitors and now i kinda feel like im at the edge of whats too big
at some point when you are gaming its better to be able to see everything in your vision easily but the proximity to my face its hard to see things in my peripherals on these two monitors
im suffering from success
Because you’re still using a laptop. Once you build your own PC you won’t have money for anything else and that’s when you can find inner peace by touching grass
Can confirm. Have built my own PC
Definitely but you have to make it yourself from scratch
