    I literally use algebra all the time and I’m not even a programmer. Programmers, who are numerous, are doing algebra all day for their job on which our entire society operates

    Does this guy just not know what algebra is

      p.s. sorry to tell you buddy, most people do algebra in high school, some started in middle and even elementary school, not in college

        The word algebra comes from the Arabic term الجبر (al-jabr), which originally referred to the surgical treatment of bonesetting. In the 9th century, the term received a mathematical meaning when Persian mathematician Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi employed it to name a method for transforming equations and used it in the title of his treatise al-Kitāb al-Mukhtaṣar fī Ḥisāb al-Jabr wal-Muqābalah [The Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing] which was translated into Latin as Liber Algebrae et Almucabola.

        Technically actually correct. Never tell these kinda people that we use Arabic numerals tho che-smile
