For those who don’t know, an Irish car bomb is a very tactile drink usually served to celebrate Saint Irish day. I could totally see something like this for 9/11, but my vision is fuzzy. Maybe it would be a drinking game instead of a drink? IDK, but I know I’m on to something here. Ideas?
Reposting my comment from the same thread on AskLemmygrad:
I heard a story once from someone who claimed to have boneheadedly requested an Irish Car Bomb at an Irish pub. He was apparently told, “We don’t serve those here–but we do have the 9/11,” and received instead two shots of 151, both on fire.
You’re all wrong - it would have to be a mocktail cause Shakira law is here and they’re taking our liberties away

Is that the law that says that hips can’t lie?
The very same!

Getting blackout drunk to own the shakira law woke antifa marxo-muslims with my 64oz Liberty Libation made with malt and corn liquor.

Shot of everclear dropped into a pint of Steel Reserve
Everclear can’t melt steel reserve 🤯
Two Manhattans? Except you’re the one falling over this time
Ground Zero: two stacks of sugar cubes dropped into absinthe with activated charcoal. Lighting the sugar on fire before the drop is an optional flair.
Alternate name during months other than September is Toxic Dust.
Smokey Manhattan?
Two Aviations or Paper Planes followed by a Smokey Manhattan
You can add a Kamikaze to the list of on theme IBA cocktails
Blowback: you start a fight in a bar, wreck the place and then the bartender hits you in the face with a broken wine bottle. served with a slice of lemon.
For an authentic experience, you need to do this in the Mended Drum.
I don’t know if the densities would work, but: a pair of Long Island iced teas with a shot of 151 poured on top which is set on fire before drinking
What’s the significance of 151?
Nothing really, anything with a high enough proof to be flammable would do
It’s the alcohol% times 2 for some reason. High proof liquor burns well
Oh, I thought it would have some relation to 9/11, since someone else mentioned an Irish bar serving flaming 151.
Can you even still get 151? I thought it was discontinued a decade ago.
Definitely not, I was ordering Caribou Lou’s less than 10 years ago…

I don’t know, I never actually bought a bottle of the stuff. It’s just one of those things that showed up at parties back when I went to parties with people who thought such things were a good idea

It was some good stuff. Gets you right fucked up.
Not Bacardi 151
But you can always get the superior Wray & Nephews 151
If it doesn’t taste like absolute shite what’s even the point
Crucially, you must down the drink of the person sitting next to you as well, once you’re finished.
Two tall shots of Kentucky Bourbon, on fire.
“Twin Towers”. I’ve heard this is what they serve you if you ask for an Irish Car Bomb in Ireland.
“falling tower”: tall hollow ice cube with kahlua inside, inside tall glass of vodka with crushed ice (or rum and cream liqueur)
Taking down two beer towers
Making airplane noises as you chug them
