Went to a party hosted by a coworker with two comrades last night and got absurdly drunk. Overall was great, we sang together and talked about our love for shooting signs and the need to destroy Israel. But I absentmindedly wolfed several tacos with carne asada. I feel ashamed of this, especially as I have done this type of thing in the past. The only three times I’ve eaten meat in the last year have been at parties/bbqs while heavily drunk. My pattern of behavior reminds me of my friends who are nic fiends in denial who still have “cheeky” drunk cigarettes despite having “totally quit.” Unlike them, however, I do intend to actually change my behavior. Impulse control, gotta work on that. I don’t have any conscious hankering for meat when drunk or sober, just for easily accessible tasty and greasy food. Might make more of an effort to have vegan greasy junk available when I have a night out. Mainly, I feel a bit ashamed of my habit and I am gonna try to change. Anyone else dealt with this type of thing?
