Farmers are entering harvest season with the highest-ever diesel prices on record, which will deeply impact food prices.

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is being drained to fuel export markets, which are under heavy strain after wars in the Persian Gulf and Europe.

It may be a boon for exports of Chinese electric tractor manufacturers, who enjoy supply chain monopolies on batteries and powertrain technologies, and have deep experience electrifying China’s agriculture.

My hot take for the day is that it should be illegal to sell or resell diesel fuel or engines for road use. Just rip the Band-Aid off.

Tons of pickup dipshits will mald because their $60,000 land boat is a yard ornament, but there are plenty of used compact sedans that will meet 100% of their vehicular needs.

Remember, the average pickup owner in the US will purchase between 8 and 10 of these vehicles during their lifetime and never tow or haul anything with any of them. All of their needs could be met by something like a Civic or Prius, with more rear passenger leg room.
