Saw it on the worlds tallest imax and I just kept thinking about how it took $250 million, massive practical effects, location shots, some of the best talent in hollywood, the biggest cameras, the biggest and best film, based on a story that literally coined the term “epic” all just to make the world’s okay-est movie.
That’s it. It was fine.
i enjoyed it a lot in the moment but reading that one review from the classicist that everyone was extremely upset about really helped me clarify my own nagging feelings about it. Every time someone said “our civilization of bronze” or whatever my eyes rolled completely out of my head.
