For context, Sophie Cunningham is an Indiana Fever player who’s become a chud darling for making numerous transphobic comments on social media. Because of this, paid rightwing protest groups have been showing up to WNBA games trying to spew their bullshit and harass people, so it’s nice to see some pushback against it.

Warms my heart to see so many fighting back in the WNBA. Saw a thread on reddit a couple days ago about this whole subject regarding Sophie Cunningham. Seems your average lib is damn near ready to throw trans people under the bus for electability purposes. Fuck these assholes. My wife and her happiness is more important than your electability bullshit.

I went to the Fire game. Big ups to our fans for booing any time she touched the ball, but completely unsurprising that Cunningham got more pop from the crowd than even Caitlin Clark. Seemed like all the Fever “supporters” were just there to cheer for transphobia, and not because they gave a shit about the basketball.
Really sad that women’s basketball only gets eyes on it when it’s some shit like this. Nobody doing this shit cares about women’s basketball, they care about being transphobic.
