    China’s birth rate is at an all-time low, and the country’s population shrank in 2025 for the fourth straight year. Mr Sheehan said the new regulations were a further attempt at trying to reverse that trend.

    Is our good friend Matt Sheehan projecting? Whether or not the PRC actually has a massive birthrate crisis as stated, my instinct is that they’re probably more concerned about people in capitalist nations being driven to suicide by AI, and don’t want any of that.
