I guess you can talk about podcasts too. I’m getting back into them. Years and years ago I bought an app for this but now I redownloaded it and I see it’s a monthly subscription. Screw that shit. Surely there’s something free or one time cheap.
Ideally I want it to auto download and manage the library for me but I’ll manage it myself if that means I don’t have to pay a subscription.

I use pocketcasts on the free tier and it does all that for me, I’ve been happy with it. You can download, auto queue, have per podcast playback speed and skip a certain amount at the start all for free
