I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

A random person on the internet in the early 2000’s

I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

A random mail in concern to a newspaper in 90’s

I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Another random mail in concern to a newspaper in the 80’s

I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

A line from someone’s essay exploring a somewhat new company in the 70’s

2026 oh no someone uses a common phrase to express concern over something being a trend.

Given the news about Paizo’s financial trouble from last month, I expressed some worry that a hobby I’m invested in might shitify through short term money decisions. Yeah the world will keep on turning, anything you wanted to say about the topic?

I wasn’t trying to be mocking but I can see why it can be interpreted that way; I was cracking a joke that people have been rightfully concerned about their favorite companies potentially getting worse in the future; I admit I didn’t convey that joke all that well in hindsight (what might seem obvious to the person making the post is absolutely not necessarily obvious to those reading it cause they’re not in the heads of the poster)

I think this might be the first time I’ve seen Paizo being greedy and it’s for literally a pittance. I have a feeling this’ll be walked back, but it is alarming that they’re even bothering with this.
