If you want to know more about specific choices ask me at the bottom
The original Sonic is a C? GTFOH.
Uhhh, yo, where Sonic '06 at?
Was just about to ask this. It’s so good!
What about Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric?
Sonic Heroes was fun till I got stuck cause of a glitch that hard locked my game.
I should go back and finish it sometime this year🤔
Sonic Heroes is a broken glitchfest throughout. OP is a little insane for putting it so high, higher than Adventure 2 even.
Why didn’t SA2 get a higher ranking? (I spent an inordinate amount of time in the chao garden and hold that one in particular in very high regard). It also has a lot of replayability, though i will concede some of the missions weren’t that good.
Also, no love for Sonic: Riders? (F tier imo but worth a mention because someone out there is bound to enjoy it as much as my sister does.)
How to provoke a war:
Add someone who never had Sega, but did have Sonic CD, I feel like this is correct.
It was so good, I am fairly confident I completed 100% that game a few times.
I’ve tried playing the others but they just don’t hit the same
What’s the difference between sonic 3, sonic & knuckles, and sonic 3 & knuckles
when sonic 3 released, it was unfinished, and it contained only half of what the devs wanted to put in the game. so, later, they released sonic & knuckles, a stand-alone game that contains the other half. but if you mount sonic 3 on s&k (the s&k cartridge had itself a cartridge slot), you get the full game that the devs wanted, sonic 3 & knuckles, which contains both halves.
S3&K - the OG DLC expansion that actually delivered
We definitely have pretty differebt tastes. Out of those games on the list I’ve played:
• Spinball would be an A tier for concept, but having played it on official Genesis hardware/cart, I’d drop it to bare maximum C for my lack of skill.
• Sonic 4 ep1/2 would be A tier because I personally really enjoyed them.
• Sonic 1 would be B tier because it’s all downhill music wise after Green Hill Zone.
• Sonic 2 would be S tier because Tails. No notes.
• 3D Blast would be between B and C tier specifically for the only version I own: Genesis. Not my favorite, but not one I hate. Middle of the road for me.
• Adventure and DX would be D tier only because bad level geometry bugs, but that’s extremely minor compared to my inability to beat the Big the Cat levels. Withiut him, I’d give it almost a B level of high C.
• Mania would be high B, nearly an A, because I would have loved if they took some of the old, redone stages and did new stages instead. Otherwise, pretty cool game.
Basically most the other games I either haven’t played or am still olaying through, so I can’t give an accurate rating.
But agree on:
• CD
• S3 + S3&K
• SRB2
Those are the only other games I’ve beaten and can give an opinion on.
OG Sonic is a C? I must be missing some fucking amazing games.
Sonic X-treme never released
Exactly
You prefer Sonic 1 on Master System to the same game on Genesis/Mega Drive?
Also, where’s the best one, Sonic the Hedgehog for PlayStation 3?
Sonic on the Master System is higher resolution and runs better
That’s cool that you broke up F tier into 5 subcategories. Don’t often see that level of detail talking about fake blue hedgehog.
Shadow Generations is the only good game ever made.
Sonic R is A tier!?
As in, the very same tier you put Mania and Adventure 2?
Are you sure that wasn’t an accidental placement? Or like, are you giving it bonus points for the sound track?
Nah i actually like sonic R
Don’t get me wrong, I got the Saturn on launch and played quite a lot of Sonic R. I’m not saying it is unlikable.
But from a “relative quality of game design” point of view, putting it on the same level as 2, Mania, and Adventure 2, seems crazy to me.
On the other hand, if the list is just based on how much you enjoyed each game, then don’t mind me. Just an old man yelling at clouds.
No Sonic’s Schoolhouse. F tier tierlist.
