Despite their theoretical class position as employees, I would argue that many white-collar workers tend to be ideologically aligned with the petit bourgeois in practice. As proletarianization continues, the material conditions will decline past a terminal point and they will either become politicized members of the working class, or fascists. FWIW, in the US I’d say it’s like 3/4 of the time they go fascist. Treatlerism is real.

If someone is raised on the expectation of relative socioeconomic affluence, and if they’re poised to end up making more in capital gains over the course of their life than the amount of rent and loan interest they pay, then they are part of the exploiting class, and their interests are aligned with preserving the system of domination.
