My dad’s hand me down pellet smoker grill is pretty cool but I’m kinda wishing i also had a propane grill or something, because every time i open the damn thing it drops 100F, so while it’s great keeping all the smoke outside my house, it still feels sub optimal for burgers. But i know it’s primarily a smoker, it just is what it is. Still, it got me wondering, what flavor of grillin does hexbear like most? Where’s our grillheads at
Lump charcoal all the way for me. So tasty so fun to light. Smells nice. Definitely difficult to keep it at an exact temperature in a classic wever style if you’re trying to be super precise. But I grill everything on it including simple baked goods sometimes. So you can do anything.
Is it easy to just keep super hot? Like i figure charcoal is the worst if I need to quickly lower the temp but otherwise it might be the best for burgers?
Pretty much stays real hot for some time. Lump especially. The biggest issue I had was learning curve to light it well.
It’ll cool down a bit if you restrict airflow but not quickly. But if you wanna grill a bunch it lasts a long time or you can put it out by closing of air all the way. Then use it later.
