The aesthetic is perfect. Feels Retro, Modern and Futuristic at the same time. Cyberpunk has never looked better.

    Ooh, thanks for reminding me about this! I’ve only ever seen the original movie, but I heard this series will stick closer to the manga (which I also haven’t read), so I’m curious to check it out.

    I wonder if retro-style art direction is gonna become a trend? Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! from last season had a Rumiko Takahashi-esque (Urusei Yatsura, Ranma ½, Inuyasha) style which comes directly from the 2014 manga, and it really made it stand out from the crowd. Maybe it already has become a trend and I just haven’t been paying attention.
