Rear Adm. Nicholas Tilbrook relieved Cmdr. Michael Lyle due to a “loss of confidence in his ability to command.”

It’s the Navy times bro don’t expect good things. Also it’s a propaganda network.

“He’s gone and we’re not gonna say why, but if you point that out we’re not going to call you the next time we have some news and we’ll never issue a press pass to anyone from your organization ever again.” - The Navy (probably)

Still no excuse for just slapping your masthead on their press release and calling it journalism, but there may be a bit of nuance here

If the news started telling us why, we would be able to form our own opinions on the information it provides. The ‘why’ has been a thing of the past for decades.

I was kind of hoping someone reading it might have some insight because I searched around briefly but I couldn’t get any more information.

That seems like an extremely strong statement from the Navy, or maybe it’s normal. Either way yikes.

That’s the standard statement for anyone getting removed. It doesn’t mean anything. For all we know, this could be due to something some junior enlisted did that he had no knowledge or control over.

Probably went gay while not aweigh.

(US military and veterans will probably love that joke. Civilians… probably not so much.)
