I over did it last year and I could no longer ignore the slowly evolving pain I have been experiencing on multiple fronts. Took me forever but finally found a good doctor, and he noticed during the year of so being yanked around by quacks that my copper was super high. Took a reading again and it was even higher.

The thought was Wilson’s Disease. A genetic disorder that doesn’t let your body get rid of excess copper. Something that is supposed to be a trace mineral in the body. Mine was over 200, this is to the point that the reading doesn’t work well cause its hitting above the chart.

Well they send me to a liver specialist who was a asshole. Was transphobic to me and my wife. Insisted that I was just fat with a fatty liver. Didn’t even ask if I did exercise (which I do) he just assumed I didn’t exercise. Mind you we were just making sure if I had it or not. I had come to see him because of my GP and he acted like I was faking it.

We went ahead and did the tests he scheduled. (Thankfully my GP was going to find me a new doctor if we needed to continue) and while it turns out I don’t have Wilson’s disease I also don’t have a fatty liver. (Can’t help but fill smug about that.)

Well. Where the hell is this copper coming from??? This is where I mention that at this time. My estrogen has not liked the testosterone I’ve been low dosing and my horrible periods have come back with a vengeance. It had gotten to a point where I was having a 24/7 period of the damed. At the end I couldn’t do anything.

Why is this relevant? Guess what goes up when another goes up? Estrogen and copper. My body was just constantly increasing my estrogen no matter what I did.

Que the hysterectomy.

Several months later and at the tail end of recover I noticed that I can feel the heat again. (Fun fact if your copper is too high your body can’t handle the cold but is oblivious to heat signals even if your about to pass out from the heat) we get some testing done and sure enough my copper is down to 150 something. Test it again and its now at 124. I’m back in the high green.

And the shitty liver specialist wasn’t useless. He did a lab for a autoimmune screening and I have markers for something. I’ll need more testing but this is the most information and most positive outcome for my pain.

I still get laid out for a bit and I’m in recovery form a laundry list of stuff. But this is the best I’ve done in years for my physical health.
