Yes and I hate seeing it. It also has eugenics roots if you look up the term “removed”. Weird hill to die on while praising fuckin BadEmpanada of all people. Mongol with the suffix is rightly in the slur filter.

My point is you should present your point without using language derived from 4chan Nazis.

I hate BadEmpanada, I called him a leftoid as well if you re-read my comment. Does that make it sound like I respect his opinion or profession? I used him to demonstrate how fucked the situation is when even he is way better than basically every single ‘leftist’ politician, political organization and cultural commentator.

It’s like you aren’t following how language is used and works or something. You have weird prescriptivist views that follow from your word policing.

The suffix -oid means “resembling,” “like,” or “having the form of”. It is often used to denote something that looks or behaves similarly to something else, but is fundamentally distinct (e.g., humanoid, asteroid). Ancient Greek Root: It originates from the Greek word eîdos (εἶδος), meaning “form,” “shape,” or “likeness”. Etymological Evolution: In Greek, it combined with connecting vowels to form the suffix -oeidēs. This evolved into the Latinized form -oīdēs and eventually became the modern English suffix -oid. Historically and currently, this suffix is heavily utilized in mathematics, the sciences, and medical terminology (e.g., cuboid, spheroid, adenoid) to describe geometric shapes, organic structures, and classification

When used to describe people it literally comes from skull measuring and referring to autistic people as having asiatic features. Idk why you cling to a shitty 4chan in incel term so much but you do you guy.

Now who’s being prescriptivist? You seriously need to either do a tiny little bit of self crit, or just stop talking to me. The only one derailing this thread is you by doubling down on your beloved 4chan speak. I am done with you.

i was owning you by your own logic. You picked the dictionary etymology side instead of the use-case descriptivist side, and you don’t even have the high ground to stand on for it. Do the origins of things matter or not? You cherry picking an arbitrary use case is not meaningful. Stop saying asteroids and humanoids

The use-case is that it was picked up by 4chan Nazis. Femoid, leftoid, etc. all are derived from its eugenicist useage. Please fuck off. I said I was done with you. “Owned you with facts and logic!” do you even hear yourself? I pity your org for having to put up with you.

                Stop saying asteroids and humanoids

you are the one that decided to pull out a dictionary to hit me with, now you’re crying that i’m a nerd for using it against you. I’m referencing your own debate tendencies. Despite fundamentally agreeing with me on the subject of the thread, the actual important conversation, you instead decide to pick a fight and derail to imply i’m ‘sus’ for using words of the english language. Guess what it’s a language of colonizing genociders. Everything is covered in blood, everything was used by racists once. I just really don’t think you ever follow this logic to its end, it’s like a dogma of in-group shaming. It comes off as hokey and fake to outsiders who don’t buy into all the contrivances and leaps and associations.

                    the actual important conversation

The important conversation about electoralism in Maine? Get the fuck over yourself you self important little dweeb. We have comrades on this site subject to actual persecution and here you are fucking whining about someone politely asking you not to use genocidal language to make your nominally anti-genocide point.

I actually fucking hate people like you. Just stick to what is left of the “left” on reddit because that is what you fucking sound like.
