I actually just had this happen today but it kinda went the other way. I just realized that the Curry Barker behind the new horror film Obsession was the same guy behind one of my favorite YouTube channels, so I actually got a good reminder instead of a bad one.
I also think it’s the sort of person both fields attract. Comics are often cynical and edgy while still having a lot of empathy for people, which is a really helpful perspective for writing great horror.

So true, the more it happens the more I have been thinking the approaches used writing the absurd and the horrific must have a ton of overlap.
