Austria is nice :> I had a few russian colleagues during my studies as well and if you make an effort learning the language it should be nice. In university setting english is probably fine but with the general population maybe a bit less…

If you’re any of the LGBTQ+ letters, you don’t want to be in Russia. It’s only getting worse. So yes, get out while you can. Go some place that has same sex marriage, you at least know they’re not a totally bigoted country.

Obviously don’t go the the US. Haha

I dont even have tonread this post, if you have the means to do so. Yes gilr fucking LEAVE

not saying its much better here in the USA, but russia IS crazy right now

Editing this comment to say that theres a nonprofit called Rainbow Railroad thats objective is to help relocate any lgbt lettered people from unsafe places anywhere in the world, to a safe place. For anyone that needs it ❤️

I personally havent heard alot about them but if they are doing that successfully then i love it and im all for it. And perhaps it can be a link in the sidebar at some point.

Edit edit: according to their numbers theyve had just under 80,000 requests for help since founding, with over half being supported through their network, and almost 2500 ultimately relocated. Seems like awesome work, relocation numbers are low but i imagine thats because relocation is HARD. But it does seem like they genuinely help and they do have success stories

i scared living in russia … reading news is awful so usually i dont read them ETC ETC ETC

i scared that im even lose access to hrt and it became prescription-only but idk anyway i will can get prescription through mom (she takes estrogen for many many years, but its etynylestradiol)

DIY injectables is possible but is usually 3 months waiting of package

some right-wing activists like in USA now trying to make it prescription only for atleast 3 years (“science for truth”(what name MMMMMM maybe “science for lie”) and Bukhanovskya Olga psychiatrist with them million “researches” with hate with hate anti human etc), but i dont think that even possible here is only psychoactive drugs are prescription, kinda stupid making estradiol prescription even testosterone gel is not controlled and mosly w/o prescription

okay hrt but internet freedom is going to fall and fall

russian universities quality is super bad i dont see future here only if boycott it and work on jobs that dont need it (IT is most good from this but IT jobs are everywhere in the world fall down)

I am so sorry, I hope you find a way. I would not stay in Russia I don’t think things are going to improve any time soon.

You had two avenues to leave 1. Apply for asylum in Germany or other European Union members.

I would not take Hungary or Poland at this time possibly others from the Balkan I am not too informed there. But Germany and the Baltic states are good. You could get asylum because you are trans and Russia is a threat to you. This path is difficult, and requires a lot of paperwork.

The less elegant version is you apply for a travel visa, take a few day vacation in the country and just don’t leave and claim refugee status. Nod advised because of the unknowns but it may work for you because you are trans.

    1. Visa route Easier might be to apply for university or jobs (doesn’t matter what) in Germany, France, Spain or Baltic Countries. Once you have the visa for working or Study you can migrate over. Then you apply for a permit to stay.

In both cases in these countries should HRT be offered to you as basic health care need. You might have to pay for it you might not. But it should be possible to get it. It is difficult to give blanket advise and if you were to ask for a specific EU country it would be easier.

So overall I’d say Germany, Spain, Baltics are your best options.

The Netherlands is pretty bad regarding deportations, but that’s not the case for all EU memberstates.

University would be preferable if possible but it doesn’t automatically mean you get to live in the EU afterward. You’d probably have to find a (good) job and get married afterward 😔 Probably best to apply for asylum and attend university at the same time maybe, it’ll give you options, but there’s NGOs that would know better probably 😊

Asylum means that you get refugee status, you do not have to be in a refugee home. It would however prevent the authorities from sending you back at any point. Because you are protected.

I am just trying to help you…
