Even reddit posts were generally not condemning it, but more worrying about a crackdown on leftists due to it, it was interesting to see.

Pretty surprising! That thread is more positive than some of our discussions on the topic lol

It may be another hammer strike on the wedge between the empire and what it’s constituents actually want. The US can not back down on Israel even no matter what, even if it continues to isolate a significant amount of people. What a broken fucking country.

All they need to do to manage the empire is moderate evil and a few token handouts, but they cant come up with anything besides extreme violence and absolutely no handouts whatsoever of any kind.

Its not public perception that is worrying. It will shift ever closer to revolution as is mandated by the every expanding contradiction. But the government which will increasingly turn fascist.

that’s lemmy.ml just viewed through .world

But shockingly it hasn’t been removed from world by their admins. I wonder if any threads on comms on .world itself are so positive

edit: they did the usual removal of some of the articles, and removing some comments for advocating violence or property damage. But there is a thread and its not all negative

The linked post is in the comm !worldnews@lemmy.ml, not a lemmy.world comm. We’re just viewing it from lemmy.world, just like you can view it from hexbear.net.

That said, it is/was on the front page of lemmy.world, so it there are plenty of their users replying and plenty of them are positive. Some are garbage too, but nonetheless, plenty are positive. But they also have a thread on their /c/news which is… suprisingly good overall, despite some absolute losers picking fights around the edges.
