Part of the problem is that most policing is a state and local affair, so very little is going to be written at the federal level.
No. It’s going to require effort similar to desegregation to achieve anything meaningful. Cops act like a gang and will actively fight meaningful reform.
And of course they’ve got the strongest unions in the country.
If you want an institution that keeps the peace, protects citizens, and is accountable for use of force, then you’ll have to create one whole-cloth. Because the police are not that institution and they never were intended to be.
Yes but it is local so quieter. Progress takes time. It was only 500-300 years ago we were all subjects/slaves of kingdom.
