Thanks for sharing that. I know based on all of the descriptions I’m a classic case. I’ve just been so nervous to introduce more drugs into my life. But damn if that description doesn’t make me want to feel like a new person too though. I’ve dealt with this shit way too long.

Honestly I feel it’s even more likely he’s elected this time. The “Hillary hands down” polls were so much wider than any I’m seeing. Unless polling has gotten considerably more accurate, there are going to be a lot of sad and shocked people out there days after the election.
I truly hope my feelings are unjustified but the nation is in big fuckin trouble.

The “who” they’re attacking is my mother in law. She believes all modern cancer treatments are bad because she’s done her research. She would likely cut off anyone who has had a chemo treatment she feels so strongly about this.
She goes to “children’s health alliance” type seminars and fundraisers and gives them money. She spreads anti vaccination propaganda to her friends, family and any stranger that will listen to her.
She went to nursing school (didn’t graduate) 55 years ago, so she has “knowledge and experiences in these matters”.
She prints out articles and tapes them around the house for when she has company. She email blasts and pastes articles or videos in group messaging feeds. She is right and nothing will change her mind. Evidence and logical rebuttals are met with “deep state” and “big pharmaceutical companies” retorts.
The crazy thing is, it’s a mix of truth and lies which blurs the lines of what you can call out and can’t, and she loves to change the subject as soon as one brings up a point she can’t refute. Raising her voice makes her arguments that much more true.
Now dear reader you must be thinking “How exhausting. What a waste of time to even engage this!” That would be correct, and I don’t. But the point is to bait and draw people into these conversations and although that isn’t me, it’s successful here and there for her to win and feel validated with all of this energy.
The worst part? Her family loves her and seeks her approval so many of them buy into it all. Including those with kids now going unvaccinated.
So I hear your initial point, but this type of questioning could lead to someone being shut down properly if enough were to hit a “I did my research” perpetrator like my MIL. This isn’t about “top 5 ways to fix your AC condenser unit when it stops” type research.

Maybe 10-12 years ago. I have provided friends and family with tech support for a long time (20+ years) and I’d say I haven’t had any relatives call me for support in 5 years.
It’s part user education, but mostly that the OS is generally so stable and solid that it isn’t necessary anymore.
I personally have two desktops, one windows and one Ubuntu. I use them both equally and have more issues with Ubuntu acting randomly funky than Windows 11.
I have a favorite link that for “full stand up comedy special” on YouTube and new ones pop up like every day. Listen to it on my commute, shower, dishes, etc.
You know, that’s a great point. I’d totally do a “shit job” if it paid decent and be a ton happier. I’m trying to organize and lead and only doing it for the money, and I hate it.
Son is 13 and gets a lot of attention - especially comments/compliments from adults. Not lewd or obnoxious ones, just like “wow kid you are really good looking! Going to get all the girls in high school” type stuff. He was 6’3” at 12.
He is much more personality and brains than looks as a person, so I guess I’ll just not worry about it. Lucky kid.

Thanks. Honestly my behavior and outlook is pretty great considering how potentially severe my individual case is. It’s more the symptoms that drive me nuts. I deal with them well, but I’d rather they be lessened than be constantly contended with.
