  • 🇨🇳 A “highly concerned” response from China, recommending peace talks lol. At least they’re not mildly concerned, highly concerned is much more concerned.

    From Newsweek:

“China is highly concerned about Israel’s attacks on Iran and deeply worried about the potential serious consequences of these actions.”

Lin also said Beijing, which has been developing closer ties with Tehran, including a 25-year cooperation agreement, “opposes any violation of Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, and opposes actions that escalate tensions and expand the conflict.”

“The renewed sharp escalation of the regional situation is not in the interest of any party,” he continued.

“China urges all relevant parties to do more to promote regional peace and stability and to avoid further escalation of tensions. China is willing to play a constructive role in helping to de-escalate the situation.”

Imma be real with you, chief. I don’t think China is going to “save the day” in any scenario short of actual ww3.

EDIT 🇷🇺 Russia is doing the same, but they have a cooperation treaty. No mutual defense treaty, though.

Remember when I said they got him on the most important charge? uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so about that i-spil-my-jice biden-fall

Harvey Weinstein trial ends in mistrial on finalremoved charge after jury foreman refuses to deliberate

So that’s one charge of Sexual Assault found guilty, another found not guilty, and on the third charge ofremoved … mistrial.

The retrial of Harvey Weinstein ended abruptly Thursday when the jury foreman refused to join the deliberations on the remainingremoved charge against the disgraced movie mogul.

During the five days of deliberations, the jury foreman had reported to Farber that the jurors were having a hard time reaching a verdict and that several members had been clashing.

Right before the partial verdict was announced Wednesday, the foreman told the court he’d been threatened by another member of the panel who told him, “You know me; you going to see me outside.”

I knew about jury nullification, but never have I ever heard of throwing hands at the foreman being a viable strategy peppino-square-up . Seems to have backfired if it was an anti-weinstein juror, though.

When the jury returned Thursday to resume deliberations on the remaining charge, the jury foreman told Farber he was done.

“Are you willing to go back in today and continue deliberations?” Farber asked.

    “No, sorry,” the foreman replied.

At that point, Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg moved for a mistrial and asked that Weinstein be retried on theremoved charge again.

“If Weinstein wants to own up to the charge, we can have discussion about that,” Blumberg said. “But we are ready to retrial forremoved in the third degree.”

So no closure just yet for the victims I’m afraid. On a brighter note, that one charge still stands and will have him in prision for a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years, up to 25 years if judge deems so.

“You have a grown man who has now said that people have told him in the jury room they’ll meet him outside,” Aidala said. “He said it twice.”

But Farber said what the juror was describing was just “schoolyard nonsense.”

lol the article doesn’t even describe what this fight is about. Could be about bathroom breaks for all we know. So this was all about the foreman not changing his vote on the now mistrial-ed charge. Very interesting.

Weinstein attorney Arthur Aidala said that his client had been through enough and that there should be no third trial on that charge.

Suck it up, buttercup. You’re the guy who called for mistrial.
