Being trusted in a particular location does not depend on your feelings but on whether or not your behaviour demonstrates that you have earned that trust. Looking for boundaries - how much you can get away with - does not demonstrate you can be trusted, unless you frame it from the other person’s perspective, for example you could ask your mom if she’s comfortable for dates to pick you up from a few houses down the road, and if not how far out you should go. This lets her set the boundary she’s comfortable with and you can gain trust by respecting that boundary and not attempting to push it - in fact go the other way and add 25 yards to it.

But OK let’s suppose I have to answer your questions before I can get an answer to mine. Same answer for both: actually it’s not something I’ve ever thought about. But I could find out fairly easily, the first anyway, given a list of socialist countries I could do a quick web search to find out if they have colleges. They probably do, but I couldn’t name any at the moment. I think it would be tricky to find out whether or not A&H are appreciated under socialism; I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t be but I couldn’t point to anything that gives an indication one way or another.

Your answer now please: a list of countries where I could, if I lived and so desired, chase those dreams without the limitations of capitalism.

British Christian here, with an engineering degree. I think knowledge is a good thing. But it’s not the only thing; faith is important too. Balancing the two can be tricky because we always want more “why?” and God isn’t always going to answer that. But He is good, infinitely good, there is no evil in Him, and He has promised to be with us forever. There are times when you just have to switch your analytics off and trust, and find the peace within “I don’t know.”

Then there’s the recent wussification of horses, from wild western horses that’d charge around carrying gun toting hoodlums of all sorts, to the present day where they clop slowly along the road where you have to pass wide and slow on the offchance that you’ll totally freak them out.
