2·3 months agoThere’s Finamp, a music client for Jellyfin with offline playback. I’ve not used it personally yet, but with Spotify ratcheting up prices again I’m in the process of switching to self-hosting my music library. When that’s up and running it’s at the top of my list for Android clients.
One of the things Harris really has going for her is the fact that she would absolutely demolish Trump in a debate. She would not let him off the hook for his lies and would be able to counter his BS with reality.
Which is why Trump will never agree to debate her.
If Harris does become first name on the ticket, they better put Jesus Himself Christ as her running mate.
Rollout policies are the answer, and CrowdStrike should be made an example of if they were truly overriding policies set by the customer.
It seems more likely to me that nobody was expecting “fingerprint update” to have the potential to completely brick a device, and so none of the affected IT departments were setting staged rollout policies in the first place. Or if they were, they weren’t adequately testing.
Then - after the fact - it’s easy to claim that rollout policies were ignored when there’s no way to prove it.
If there’s some evidence that CS was indeed bypassing policies to force their updates I’ll eat the egg on my face.
PHP is better than Javascript these days.

The only thing JS really has going for it is ease of execution, since any browser can run your code… though the ubiquity of Python is closing that gap.

3·5 months agoActually really enjoying OpenSUSE Tumbleweed… first time on a rolling release distro and so far no major complaints.
Probably would have started with Arch (btw) but I felt a little daunted by the install process. In contrast with my ~2010 attempt, all my data is on a separate drive with automatic backups to NAS — so when I upgrade to an NVMe drive I’m going to give it a whirl.

A friend of mine had some explaining to do when he screwed up a dhcp config change and started routing his guest wifi through his “personal” pihole instead of the restricted guest one (he had family/children over often and did not want to be the reason nephew Timmy got an eyeful of wet bush or a beheading).

How well does Godot integrate with modules written in other languages? I assume you have to compile a library for each target platform on your Rust component and then link it dynamically in Godot somehow?
One way they could increase the housing supply is by severely taxing corporate ownership of single-family homes (and possibly low-occupancy multi-family homes like duplexes).
Give it a grace period, say… 3 months (to cover the cases where a bank forecloses and is sole owner while the house is auctioned), then charge like 95% tax on market value every quarter.
