The skin of red onions is reddish to purple. The flesh is purple much like shallots. But the skin sets them apart.

There is a maximum human population this planet can support and we have been over it by a couple billion for a while and we’ve been using technology to expand that number and sustain the population. Those methods are burning out our methods to grow crops and are reliant on fossil fuels.
One way or the other the population will decrease. At this point it’s a question of whether we do it through planned decrease or a population crash due to starvation from a combination of soil deterioration and climate change stress.

107·15 days agoI have watched the deer in Campbell River walk up the sidewalk single file, wait at a crosswalk for the road to clear, and then cross.
The animals are learning to navigate the new jungle.
But this is definitely AI with those road lines. So a fake story.
Sometimes when you order off Amazon and the like (Etsy, Ebay) you get little thank yous. The more religious sellers put bible quotes on them
I’m guessing it is something like that, but more escalated like a pamphlet?

0·5 months agoMy memory is vaguely recalling something about the North American plate being squished by the Eurasian and Pacific plates and there being a relief zone in the middle around the mid west where micro fault lines are forming and the start of a new mountain range is expected to be possible in the next few millennia.
Something about the unexplained part feels clickbaity here. Wouldn’t the above explain that? Now I need to go dig around for an article I read years ago…

0·7 months agoThis, very well put. I’ve been struggling to vocalise why I like this to folks and I think you nailed it.
Its a different message for a different era. And one we need. Too many are looking at the near and potentially bleak future, we need them to realise that hope can still lay beyond that.
