No one that I know has whitened their teeth. The thought has never even crossed my mind. I am a heavy coffee drinker and brush 1x day with a sonic care toothbrush. I guess I do use whitening toothpaste, but that’s because it’s unbiquitious.

People have a lot of variation in what “looking good” means to them. I would argue that being well groomed is fairly universal, but even that’s not the case for everyone. Some people think presenting well is all about the brands you wear. Others think it’s about the type of clothes. Others think it’s about how well put together your outfit is.

To me, I value well fitting clothes over “fancy” clothes. It’s nice if the two go hand in hand, but I have a hard time looking past poorly fitting “nice” clothing. That said, even fit is subjective unless you’re talking about neck fit in a button down T-shirt.

This is all a long way of saying do what works for you. If that’s whitening your teeth, cool. If that’s not whitening your teeth, also cool. Be clean, be halfway well groomed, and be comfortable in your appearance. Do this and people will generally be comfortable about you. Yes, some may judge you about something that’s out of your norms, but you truly won’t be able to please everyone.

Thanks for the reply. I can see this being a great way to go for a dedicated farm, which this post is proporting to do, but I am not sure I would want a high tunnel in my yard. I am on the wild-yard side of things and have wildflowers planted along one edge of my property, a milkweed garden, etc. I like to be able to see things growing and am not sure how I would feel about the visual block. I guess you could make one with more long-term transparent sides, but that would cost more $$.

As it is, we often have too large of yeilds when our four 4x8 raised beds really get going. Our issue isn’t yeilds, it’s the narrow width of peek yeild along with a combination of what we grow (not shelf stable) and storage systems (the whole pick early, store so it won’t ripen, and ripen on demand system).

At first I thought that you were talking about growing vertically, but you probably meant something like a green house? Beyond extending the growing season, what else do they do to increase yeilds?

AWD, yes. V8, not sure. I think they share some underpinnings with the s10, so even if they didn’t come out of factory with one it wouldn’t be a hard swap.

For one plot plant something like corn one year, beans the next, and wheat/rye the third, carrots the fourth, then back to corn.

What do you mean? Once you have home grown, or even farm stand, produce you realize that the vast majority of grocery store stuff is picked before it’s really ripe.

Like much store bought produce, grocery store strawberries are picked not fully ripe to make them easier to transport. On pant ripened most anything will nearly always be better than store bought, but you better be ready to use it quickly.

I suspect this is like our tomatoes. The tomatos you buy in stores were cultivated to be pretty, to get harvested by a machine, and to ship without getting damaged. Meanwhile, heirloom tomatoes will split their skin on a humid day, but they pack a ton more flavor in. The same is true for the vast majority of our fruit and veg. Actually ripened on plant produce doesn’t have a very long shelf life.

Teams feels a bit like a never ending beta. On one hand, it’s kind of nice to get constant tweaks and it’s generally pretty good. On the other, things do break from time to time. There’s also the whole “new teams” thing, which feels… very similar to “old teams”. All the old sillyness, like not being able to folder dive in a team while chatting (it will forget where you were when you switch back) for not much benefit. It also is a big regression in basics like spell check speed. It takes seconds for a red squiggle to send, so now my spoild self has to wait a bit before hitting enter.

At least it’s not new outlook. Everything on that is way slower and it’s very clear the UI was not optimized for a computer. Left click to spell check in an email body, right click to spell check in an email title. Want to add formatting in a meeting invite? Ha, that’s rich. Even very basic things like changing fonts take forever.

Both feel a bit like a new PM being given the reigns and going at it. I struggle to see what was so wrong with the old versions, especially outlook…

I work at a big company. We have tons and tons of problems to go solve that are getting little attention in addition to having a lot of redundant and/or “what would you say you do here” type positions. Most of this happens by accident, but it’s nearly impossible to unwind and redeploy those teams. My guess is that the big reasons why is because of leadership not wanting to look bad - a mix of “why did you staff this to begin with?” and “why did you let this go on for so long?” When these groups are eventually found during a reorg they tend to be let go vs redeployed, which makes it even harder for the remaining groups to do anything. The cycle is truly silly.

This isn’t about imperial vs metric, it’s about measuring by mass vs volume. A good example here is flour. Weighing out 30 grams (or about 1 ounce) of flour will always result in the same amount. On the other hand, you can densely pack flour into a 1/4 cup measuring cup, you can gingerly spoon it in little by little, or you can scoop and level. When you do this you’ll get three different amounts of flour, even though they all fill that 1/4 cup. Good luck consistently measuring from scoop to scoop even if you use the same method for each scoop.
