I’m so upset and enraged and powerless. About 18 months ago I had to move and I couldn’t take him with me. Literally one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, he’s like a piece of my soul and several times the only reason I bothered continuing living.
He’s sort of ok at the moment. Another friend is feeding him but he’s outdoors and it’s starting to get cold. And there’s coyotes around. In another month he’ll have to go to a shelter just to be safe. It’s killing me to think about him living like that and I’d never get to see him again or even know how he’s doing. If there was a realistic way I could live somewhere with him I would blow up my life to do it but there just isn’t.
If anyone knows any good adoption agencies or wants to adopt the best cat in world please let me know. I’m even happy to pay if gets him somewhere he can be safe and happy.
Focus on getting him inside, also where is he generally located? Like, country or city would be helpful? I would like to adopt eventually, but also I live with three cats and a dog and they all are strangers (and a couple are pretty traumatized) so I’m uncertain if it is the right move at the moment to introduce a fourth cat. Plus I’m afraid of being able to afford food and medical care for him tbh. But I know folks who love cats, and if hes local to me I can ask around and see if anyone can take him in.
He’s in western Maryland but I can figure out how to get him somewhere else. He was raised with other cats and dogs, he doesn’t get along with every cat but he’s not aggressive he just runs away. I am happy to pay for all of his needs forever as long as I know he’s loved and cared for.
Oh gosh, thats a long long ways away. I dont really know anyone out there unfortunately, but I’ll ask around.
Where at? My partner might be willing to consider it… even though we just adopted a puppy a little over a month ago.
Western Maryland, but I can figure out how to get him anywhere. He was raised with two dogs his whole life.
oh dang… opposite side of the country… sorry :(
If I didn’t think he was a few thousand miles away I’d offer, are there any cat shelters in the area? Might be an ok time of year for it since most of the kittens have probably been adopted.
There is a shelter that will take him but the thought of him being stuck in a crate almost all the time is unbearable. He’s on perfect health but 9 years old so not a great adoption candidate. If I could adopt him out directly I’d feel so much better.
right now they have to focus on getting him inside
