To make an American have decent politics you have to make them suffer like Job, I guess.
But Job didn’t learn shit. He’s more like the anti-vax parents who are not sorry even though their children died of measles. God gambled with Job’s life and family, allowed satan to kill them all, Job suffered the abuse with conviction, and then god came down to scold Job’s friends for not being as submissive as Job.
And then god gave Job seven times the family he had before, as if that makes up for everything when the originals were still dead. Children are objects, possessions in the bible.
It’s also the only time satan kills people in the bible, though it’s nowhere near god’s planet-scale genocides. Arguably every death is god’s fault, if he is omnipotent.
