This is the woman who represents Assata Shakur and H Rap Brown as defense attorney and is closely associated with the Black Power movement. The two of them, among others, end up founding the National Women’s Political Caucus together. Steinem was extremely imperfect on race but to act as if she suppressed it’s discussion is absurd.
